Most teas—even Fair Trade—come from plantations where workers have little say, and are often trapped in a system of dependency. Together, we are building a different tea model, one that gives small farmers greater access to the market, affording them more economic power, better lives and healthier communities.
We are proud to support the small- scale farmers of the Potong Tea Garden in Darjeeling, India, an organic, fair trade tea garden managed by Tea Promoters of India (TPI). TPI is a pioneer in environmental and social reform in the tea industry. Once a colonial plantation, the Potong Tea Garden is now collectively run by its workers and is paving a stronger, more democratic path forward for the community.
This tea offers the best of both worlds combining the floral, toasted rice, and oceanic flavor notes of green tea with a warming ginger finish.
